OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR BOOKING WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
The following contest is intended for play in Canada and the United States (excluding Colorado) only and will be construed according to Canadian and US law. Please do not enter if you are not located and resident in Canada or the United States as your entry will be disqualified.
1. HOW TO ENTER
Contest begins on at 8:00 AM (PST) on November 1st, 2011 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (PST) on January 21, 2012 (the "Contest Period").
To participate, log-on to www.discovermountwashington.com ("Website") and click through to the contest page and follow the directions to enter. All entrants must have a valid email address. Entrants must submit in no more than 50 words their answer to the Contest Sponsor’s question “Where in the world is Mount Washington and WHY is it so unique” and fully complete the required fields of the entry form by entering their first and last name, email address, age, telephone number, and province of residence and you will automatically receive one entry into the draw for a 7 Night Alpine to Surf Adventure on Mount Washington. Entrants must agree to abide by the contest rules in order to enter.
When all required fields are completed, click the "Submit" button to complete your entry. Limit one (1) entry per person/email address for the duration of the Contest Period. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once during the contest period, then all of your entries may be declared void at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Entries are not eligible and will be rejected if entry form is not fully completed and submitted during the Contest Period.
Entries become the property of TOURISM MOUNT WASHINGTON (“Sponsor”) and will not be returned. By submitting an entry form, each entrant agrees and consents to abide by all rules and regulations of this Contest and to allow Tourism Mount Washington to publish, use in part or as a whole the 50 words (the “Work”) submitted with the initials and province of the entrant at their discretion. To enter offline, on an 8.5”x11” plain piece of paper - hand-print your first and last name, your residential address including province and postal code, your age, contact telephone number and date of entry. Clearly identify if you are 1) an Alpine skier, 2) a Nordic skier 3) a Mountain Bike enthusiast, or 4) a Hiker . Then submit in no more than 50 words your answer to the Contest Sponsor’s question “Where in the world is Mount Washington and why is it so unique” sign and date your entry stating that you accept the rules of the Contest and mail it to: TOURISM MOUNT WASHINGTON’S “WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MOUNT WASHINGTON” CONTEST. # 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mount Washington British Columbia V9J 1L0
Mail-in entries must be postmarked by January 21st 2012, and received by January 31, 2011. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Limit one entry per person regardless of method of entry.

3. ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be legal U.S. or Canadian residents (excluding residents of Colorado) who have reached the age of majority in their province or state of residence as of November 28, 2011. Please note if the winner of the contest is under 25, they or their guest must be 25 or over by December 1st 2012. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, marketing partners, suppliers, advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse) of, or persons residing in the same household as, any such person, are not eligible.
All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Void in Colorado, and where prohibited by law. Participation in this Contest constitutes Contestant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Contest Rules. Participants who do not comply with these rules are subject to disqualification.
4. PRIZES
There is one grand prize to be won consisting of a 7 Night Alpine to Surf Adventure on Vancouver Island, to include 4 nights on Mount Washington complete with rentals and lift/trail passes, 2 nights at the Surfs Inn in Ucluelet complete with a surf lesson, 3 days basic car rental (car rental subject to winner being over the age of 25 and having held a full clean driving license for at least 3 years) and one night in the Comox Valley with an approximate retail value of $2000.00 CDN (approx. $1940 US based on an exchange rate of .97). The prize may be substituted or altered in whole or in part for a prize of equal or greater value at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Prize winners and their travel companion will be responsible for obtaining any required travel and health documents, and are responsible for all gratuities, applicable taxes, incidentals, and all other expenses not specifically mentioned above. For US residents any income tax on the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner and both the winner and their travel companion must be able to legally travel to and/or within Canada. Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the winner and are not included in the Prize value.
All other costs and expenses associated with each of the prizes are the responsibility of the winner. If the winner does not wish to accept the prize as offered, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest period.
5. SELECTION OF WINNERS
On or about 15th February, 2011, a random draw will be conducted by the Sponsor or its designee, the judges of the Contest, to select one winner from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received. The Sponsor or its representative will attempt to contact the selected entrants by phone once per day for five (5) business days. If any selected entrant cannot be contacted after five (5) business days, or is contacted but is deemed to be ineligible in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, or unable or unwilling to comply with these rules, that selected entrant will be disqualified and another entry will be drawn. This process may be repeated until an eligible entrant has been declared the winner.
5A. For Canadian Residents Only:
Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered by telephone at a time mutually convenient for the entrant and Sponsor or promotional agent of Sponsor.
6. NAMES OF PRIZE WINNERS
For the names of the prize winners send a self addressed stamped envelope with this request in writing to: TOURISM MOUNT WASHINGTON’S “WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MOUNT WASHINGTON” CONTEST # 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mount Washington, British Columbia V9J 1L0 by February 20, 2011. 7. RELEASE
Within fourteen days of receipt thereof, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return the Contest Sponsor’s declaration and release form confirming compliance with Contest Rules and acceptance of prizes as offered; acknowledging the non-responsibility of the Sponsor, its agents, and the prize suppliers in respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the Contest or the awarding of the prize; and, except where prohibited, acknowledging the Sponsor’s and its agents’, subsidiaries’ or affiliates’ right to publish and/or broadcast the winner’s picture, name, address, voices, statements without further compensation other than the prize offered. If prize documents are not returned within fourteen days, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
8. ERRORS, ETC.
The Sponsor is not responsible for (i) entries which are lost, late, incomplete, postage due, illegible, damaged, destroyed or misdirected; (ii) telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind; (iii) incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond its control which disrupts or interferes with the Contest; or (v) any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of participant’s participation in the Contest or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including without limitation any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest.
The Sponsor(s) and their partners extend absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of the prize. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond its control, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the electronic portion of the Contest, including canceling any method of entry, and randomly select the winner from previously received entries. The Sponsor reserves the right to amend the terms of this Contest without prior notice if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules.
9. MISCELLANEOUS
Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, whether in cash or otherwise, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prize will only be awarded to verified winner. All decisions of the Sponsor or their authorized representatives are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person whose name appears on the reservation made through HelloBC.com.
